In a world where everything is constantly changing relaying on what you have learned yesterday is just not enough. Though, we are surviving somehow. Here is a virus. Another 0day. A worm hits couple of servers but got caught. After a while you start seeing the pattern. You realize that ALL is fundamentally the same and you wander what will be next.

Not that long time ago I started researching esoteric ways of getting into remote systems. The reason why I did that was simply because I wanted to break out from the stupid everyday monotony. It was just not fun anymore to find someone’s open NULL ACCESS share or hit a server with 100kg 0day hammer. I though about intelligent hacking.

Full stop. I strongly believe that hacking is an art. I do practice this art in a very commercial way; penetration testing and consulting, but somewhere behind the bullshit I can see the master plan. Hacking is more then just getting into systems. It is a way of life and a way of perceiving the world. It is ZEN. No stop.

I though about intelligent hacking!!! If someone is targeting you, what they would be able to do? If you have some security background you will probably enumerate all possible attack vectors. So, you firewall, you patch, you really get good care of you security and you get nailed eventually. That is intelligent hacking; it is all about creativeness rather then skill set. This is were the battle restarts into a different space, a mental one.

Being creative is neither nature nor nurture cuz we all are. Still some of us are more subjected to such vital power. You know what?… to me creativeness is all about escaping the clich�. This is how I thought myself that the world is full of interesting opportunities that are ready to be taken. I thought about intelligent hacking.

Intelligent hacking is when you use your entire self to stretch the boundaries of any system and express that mental motion in an artistic way. You use your intelligence, obviously, because this is what you want; your rules. Intelligent hacking is when you see the big picture and you escape the clich�. You think that exploits are the only way. Thinks again.

You may find this text strange, mystic, not understandable, utterly wrong or a mad man’s gibberish, and you may as well be right. But this is what it’s all about; to some it means something to others NOT.
