Verifying user identities is a crock. Even discussing vulnerabilities and exploits is illegal in some countries. Anonymity enables free speech.

The fact that the person with who you are talking could have lied about her sex, age, job or similars doesn't changes the value of her knowledges. I mean that I've read in House of Hackers some interestings posts and discussions and nothing would change if who posted said he was a man and actually was a woman.

All depends what are you looking for, learn, get information, knowledge, friendship... I trust in House of Hackers and wouldn't need a PayPal ID, adress or anything similar to trust in someone that is talking about reverse engineering... but maybe wouldn't trust in him to talk about another subjects. When you are in internet and join a community have to accept these things; use your intuition, experiences, reasonings ect to take decisions.

The fact that you don't trust in any person on internet kinda implies that you lie in all but well, doesn't matter that. I don't see what changes if you are talking about informatics/hacking subjects with a person and he/she isn't who you thought... men are women and women men.. so? does it changes for the knowledge they have?

When are in internet, join a community ect have to accept these things, I trust in House of Hackers and the information they offer. All depends what are you looking for because see, we are learning right now in this discussion, without matter your age, sex, country, ect.

then it shouldn't make any difference to you. if you are happy to use a system that does not have Paypal-like ID verification then you easily can trust House of Hackers. They are practically the same in that respect.

It's not any different! I don't trust LinkedIn either! Other than Verified Paypal users, I don't trust any personas on the internet.

Men are women & women are men on the internet.

What made you think I trust LinkedIn? Just because I have a profile on there doesn't mean I trust any of the other personas on it.

PLEASE DON'T LET THIS COMMUNITY BECOME A HONEY POT WITH HOLES BIG ENOUGH FOR EEYORE TO FIT THROUGH AND HONEY FIT FOR POOH BEAR.

If this site and its actors are to be trusted, then members should not be able to hide behind an alias or profile with misinformation.

There should be Paypal-like ID verification of a person's name and address. Maybe even a photo. That Personally Identifying Information should be ~publically~ available so that it can be continually verified by community members.

Safeguards should exist such that a person can't create a VALIDATED ID and then sell or give it to a person that hasn't been validated.
