Hackers is the movie that got me into security. The thing that I like most about Hackers is the cultural element which puts the movie in the category of hacker romanticism. Then in 1997 Phreedom was launched - the first Bulgarian H/C/P E-zine. This is where I learned about phreaking, software cracking and arbitrary code execution (i.e. bf exploits). Phreadom had much of this cultural element as well.

I must say that probably both Hackers and Phreedom had the most significant impact on my life. Throughout the years I’ve learned that hacking is not only about security, it is a way of life, a philosophy. Hacking is also a culture which is slowly dying out. This is the reason why the GNUCITIZEN group started Hakiri - hacker lifestyle. Our mission is to revitalize what has been lost. We would like to look at all aspects of the hacker lifestyle which include things like culture, philosophy, art, design, fashion, music, technology, etc. The project is in very early stage and we need contributers to make it happen.
